27th of Eigthmoon, Year 277.1.3

Adventurers gathered in the inn and introduced themselves, then set to work right away with clearing a perimeter around the damaged ley tap. They fought a variety of mutated magical creatures there; then escorted Teakiri townsfolk with elemental rash to the medical tents, and cleared out several nearby burrows of desert gremlins.

With the immediate area around the leytap secured, they then proceeded to clean up several of the Shards in the area. The first Shard was a section of rainforest that had been infused with blue mana; the second Shard was a river that had been infused with green mana and had been overtaken by thick, wild growth. Adventurers were able to clear the first Shard, but only mitigate the second.

The day began with sorting out enchanted items collected from Teakiri that had been dangerously warped by the Arc; adventurers spent time patiently disarming them, with a few explosions along the way. Following that, they returned to the Shard of river infused with green mana which they had begun to work with in Eightmoon and finished what they started, and cleared the Shard.

Once done, they turned to a Shard that had escalated over the month: a Shard of Swamp infused with red mana, which had begun to tear apart as friction grew between the two types of energy. They successfully stabilized this Shard, and then cleared it; then proceeded to join the ritual to close the Teakiri Leytap. The withstanding and maintaining the ritual was hard-fought, but they successfully worked with the rest of Camp Zari-Kiri to close the Leytap; and were rushed thereafter to the medic’s tent to be treated for severe elemental rash.

With the repair of the Teakiri Leytap, Zari-Kiri relocated to the Karakiri Leytap: a rather remote leytap on the very western edge of Lakeshore’s border with Harmini. Adventurers first went to investigate a strange humming that was heard around camp and worked to determine its source; they determined a great deal of information, including that it wasn’t coming from the camp itself but rather from an ambient source. They put a pause on their investigation to unweave a White Swamp Shard; they found the Shard empty of elementals but heavily saturated with White Mana, and unwove it very quickly.

At this time, adventurers put together from their discoveries across the morning that another Arc – or something like it – was building, and spent the afternoon preparing ways to mitigate it or survive it to the best of their ability. One group went in search of a deep cave or other source of primal energy to potentially ground the energy from an Arc; another group worked to modify the Karakiri Leytap in hopes of allow it to channel or siphon energy to a grounding point. The Arc struck before either group was fully complete; adventurers and camp members endured a wide variety of impacts ranging from various colors of mana rash to mutations depending on their location, including several PD’s.

Back on their feet after another round of severe mana rash, and with their camp area finally cleared of the small shards from the aftermath of the Arc, adventurers went out to try to secure the surrounding area as best they could. First they ventured north to the site of a flashing and booming that had been ongoing since the Arc; when they arrived, they found a volatile crystalline mine and explored it partway. Following that, they cleared out many slimes from the immediate area of the Karikiri Leytap so that repair work on the Tap could begin.

Afterwards, they began to clear out what were supposed to be escalated Shards in the swamp; but found each one silent and apparently drained of its energy. They investigated several shards, then proceeded to follow a rainbow shimmering river in the sky; many party members “keyed” into it and have not yet returned.

3rd of Twelfthmoon, Year 277.1.3

One group of adventurers was teleported to Crystal Town by one of their innkeepers to barter for components to repair the Karikiri Leytap. They obtained all the given items; did some trading of their own; and traded gossip, news, and rumors while they were there. Later in the afternoon, they made their way to the volatile crystalline mine and continued to investigate it.

The other group continued their adventures on the “rainbow road”: a strange, blurry, colorful place they believed to be the manascape. They encountered many elementals, unwove a “black hole”, and made their way to a shining river of bright light which obliterated the one adventurer who touched it. The rest of the adventurers returned more or less intact, but were changed by their time spent there.

With they leytap repaired from the last Arc, the party spent their day preparing to seal it. First they received letters from abroad; then went out to intercept a band of Colorwoods, which had information about the Shimmerglass Sea. They continued onto a longer mission out into the mid-savanna, first checking on some strange phenomena and then searching for missing surveyors from camp; the strange phenomena turned out to be a variety of territorial, nonsensical creatures and they passed them by. The scouts they found unconscious and, upon waking, unresponsive; they led the scouts back to camp and directly to the medical tent.

These done, the adventurers then turned to the Karikiri Leytap itself, and joined the ritual to seal it. There were several close calls, but they were ultimately successful: and, with the leytap sealed, Zari-Kiri began packing up to move to a new leytap.

Zari-Kiri and its adventurers spent their first day by the shores of the Shimmerglass Sea, where the surrounding air was thick with blue fog that would not lift. Their first priority was to search for a solution to Colorrash: to do so, they traveled to the ruins of an old battlefield to search for Iron Slimes as an alchemical ingredient. There, they found slimes, as well as many undead: these undead initially drove them off, though they were able to return and destroy them. They recovered two slimes before returning to camp.

The party then split ways: one half of the party set out to secure the area around the Shimmerglass Leytap, while the other half of the party stayed in camp to conduct research. Clearing the Leytap went well, but research went poorly: those involved PD’d, and when they returned to life had become water-like and possessed a number of other strange qualities. After some reconciling with this, the party began traveling down to the Shimmerswamp – once known as the Greyfen – to seek answers about the Sea and their current predicament.

25th of Secondmoon, Year 278.1.3

With the forewarning of another Arc coming, Zari-Kiri and its adventurers spent the rest of the day day preparing. They first escorted a Colorwoods Elemental Speaker out to the shores of the Shimmerglass Sea, where elementals of many colors had been congregating; they learned that the elementals considered the spot “safe”. Afterwards, they closed the leytap – timed carefully to coincide with one of the “drains” preceding the Arc. That done, they escorted townsfolk through many dangers and as far north away from the path of the Arc as they could; when the Arc hit, they were far away and suffered fewer symptoms. Those still in camp suffered fewer symptoms than expected as well, owing to the blue fog clinging to the lake’s shore.

24th of Thirdmoon, Year 278.1.3

Adventurers spent the day studying the impacts of arcs and Shards. In the morning, they traveled to take crystalline soil samples; on the way, they were waylaid by one of the fey folk and bargained with it. This took most of the morning; come the afternoon, they cleared the area around the Zebragrass Leytap and then proceeded to the nearby Shards to study qualities that might allow them to protect against future Arcs.

Before starting on more complicated tasks, the adventurers first set out to destroy a giant multicolored slime ravaging the area – they dealt with it handily. Afterwards, they pursued lost scouts and camp mages where they had vanished through holes to other ‘scapes; they became stuck in one of these ‘scapes themselves, and took some time to return. Upon their return, they returned to the site of a pair of stone golems that had troubled them before; this time they were able to communicate with them, and discovered a nearby ruin the golems were guarding. After some quick exploration, they returned to camp to seal the Zebragrass Leytap.

26th of Fifthmoon, Year 278.1.3

With the threat of another Arc forecast, adventurers immediately started busying themselves with preparations. They cleared the area around the Wayfarer Leytap so that camp mages could begin preparations; they then evacuated the roads around the Leytap and sent travelers away from the possible danger posed by the Leytap.

This done, they returned to Zari-Kiri to take on closing the Leytap; by this time, mana tides began to surge across the region. They closed the Leytap successfully, then investigated a large Blue shard in the area to see if it might protect them and the rest of those in Camp from the Arc; they wove protections to help enhance it, and most – but not all – of Zari-Kiri outpost was able to find cover there before the Arc hit.

23rd of Sixthmoon, Year 278.1.3

With all leytaps closed, adventurers set themselves to solving dangers posed by other forces. First, they intercepted a group of soldiers headed down from Bellmorn; discovered those troops intended them to give aid, and directed them in a more useful direction. Following that, they continued eastward and retrieved a number of slime cages from Harmini, and successfully brought the cages back intact.

They then proceeded to a nearby Blue Shard in which Zari-Kiri had taken shelter from the arc the prior moon and in which they discovered a strange portal or gateway to a vast sea; they explored the shard, the gate, and the sea itself and returned before accumulating too much bluerash. The last task of the day was to capture blue slimes for use in the healers’ tents; they brought their newly-obtained slime cages with them and captured several successfully.
