Coravane sits halfway between many sides in Coradel: land and sea, west and east, elven and human, Syenon and the Coradel Capital, Illionor and Falnorian. It is a major trade hub: in addition to standing sentinel along the Great Ring Road, it also leads to a major route to Bellmorn through the Falor Plateau. The region is well-suited to traveling: open grasslands with sparse forests, and weather that stays relatively steady and comfortable throughout the year. The people of Coradel tend to both work hard and play hard – on the one hand, they are dedicated to their trades and most folks take their names from them. On the other hand, Coradel holds many festivals throughout the year and enjoys a variety of leisure, particularly tavern games and time spent in nature – fishing, hiking, and so on. People in Coravane tend to be fairly easygoing, curious, and friendly overall.

History of Location
Coravane was founded in the 3rd Era as a military outpost to defend against the Old Syenon region to the west. It once sat across from Old Syenon’s own outpost, Vesperin, as both armies fought one another in the space between. Despite its position on the warfront, Coravane slowly grew as markets and then a town formed around the garrison. When Coravane took Vesperin and no longer sat on front lines, Coravane’s population nearly doubled in a short amount of time; and when the war was won, Coravane became a major trade town bridging western and eastern Coradel.
Innkeepers
Melissë Carrier (Emissary): Human F, Late 30’s; Practare.
Lvl 29: 10/Bard, 10/Sentinel, 4/Thief. || Diplomat, Messenger, Peacekeeper.
Melissë is of fairly average height and build, with a slender face and the barest hint of a point to her ears. She is afflicted with a seemingly-permanent windswept appearance; her shortish hair is always ruffled, and her clothes always a bit tousled. Her fingers are often ink-stained and her messenger bag is always brimming with papers.
Rumors: Though human, Melissë is rumored to have an elven ancestor somewhere in her family line. She spends a great deal of time in high places, particularly the walls and watchtowers of Coravane.
Brin “Rook” Keeper (Wildwarden): Human M, Mid 40’s; Gentry.
Lvl 30: 10/Bard, 9/Wild Mage, 6/Ranger. || Forester, Diplomat, Priest.
Brin is lean and clearly travel-worn; his clothes, though tidy, have many patches, and he is tanned from a great deal of time spent outside in the sun. His hair has grey streaks, and crows feet decorate the corners of this eyes.
Rumors: Brin sits on the Coravane City Council, and has the given duty of overseeing the wild and natural spaces around the city. Though his name is ostensibly Brin, he never goes by it nor uses it himself; and is instead called “Rook” by most people in town.
