Orizan, Halimin (Helios)

Orizan is an outpost of the Halimin military in the southeastern-most corner of Falnorian. It is located deep in the swamps of southern Halimin, tucked against the encroaching rainforest to the south. This is Orizan’s purpose: to see the construction of the Eastern Greenwall, a barrier meant to hold back the ever-growing tide of the rainforest and protect Halimin from the warring elemental spirits within. Orizan is a semi-permanent camp: buildings constructed in place of tents, and well-fortified against the danger outside. The outpost is surrounded by a thick palisade; a ways beyond it is the foundation of the Greenwall itself, and beyond that an outer line of spikewalls and earthworks. Nearly two-thirds of the camp are soldiers, builders, and mages; all trained for fighting the rainforest and for the construction of the Greenwall.

History of the Location

Orizan is a new outpost, only built in the last ten years; its sole purpose is the construction of the Greenwall. Before that – for almost two thousand years – the region was deserted wildland. However, there are signs of a much older civilization that once lived in this region: artifacts, dug from the earth as the foundations of the Greenwall are laid, suggest the presence of an ancient 1st-Era civilization of which almost nothing is known. In the rush to build the Greenwall, there has been precious little time to study those ruins – and if not researched now while the construction is in progress, the artifacts of this mysterious civilization may be lost forever.

Innkeepers

General Sabira (Orizan General): Human F, Mid 40’s; Practare.
Training: Lvl 28 – 10/Knight, 10/Sentinel, 3/Mercenary. || Builder, Peacekeeper, Forester
Description: Hair braided close to her scalp; wears grease across her eyes to block the sun. Adorned with several trinkets.
Rumors:
Was trained in Solucan and helped build the first section of Greenwall there as a foot soldier. Has excellent rapport amongst her troops, and is often seen working out on the wall alongside them.

Zanzīru Qanat (Greenwall Architect): Illion Elf M, Mid 40’s; Practare.
Training: Lvl 27 – 10/Diviner, 10/Pyromancer, 2/Healer. || Builder, Fine Arts, Cartographer.
Description: Dark hair with streaks of grey; heavily tanned and sun-wrinkled. Wears a blue cloak made of light cloth and a straw hat to keep off the sun.
Rumors: Rumor has it that Zanzīru traveled widely in the Gildmark Empire to the east in the earlier days of his adventuring.

Kuitli (Camp Scout): Wood Elf M, Mid 70’s; Practare.
Training: Lvl 28 – 10/Ranger, 10/Wild Mage, 3/Assassin. || Hunter, Tracker, Forester.
Description: Weathered appearance with one blind eye; many strange scars of a clearly magical origin.
Rumors: Whispers around camp say that Kuitli used to live in Tezchi’tatl long ago, but no one is willing to speak of it to him directly. He is known for being distant and aloof from most others in camp.

Halima Loravain (Camp Chronicler): Illion Elf F, Mid 30’s; Craftsman.
Training: Lvl 31 – 10/Viking, 10/Ranger, 6/Mercenary. || Historian, Scribe, Priest.
Description: Light brown hair, hazel eyes; wears a Halimin-style scholar’s wrap.
Rumors: Halima is known for being friendly and curious, particularly about archaeological artifacts. Spends a lot of time with the camp traders and cooks, less time on the front at the Greenwall.
