9th of Tenthmoon, Year 193.1.3

Adventurers spent the morning dealing with some of the precursors to All Hallows: hags from the forest threatening local villages. They also went searching in the rainforest for herbs that might cure the disease afflicting the baby ent rescued in Ninthmoon, and encountered a grove of trees near Zacopal that turned out to be ents asking for the party’s help. In the afternoon, thousands of haunts appeared at the rainforest’s edge; after speaking with them, adventurers returned with fragments of paper written in a strange script. They then went deep into the forest following the sound of howling that had appeared with the haunts, and found a skull-headed elf-like being attempting to sacrifice an elder ent atop some temple ruins. The adventurers rescued the elder ent, and left as the other being vanished.

13th of Eleventhmoon, Year 193.1.3

In the morning, adventurers first patrolled the edge of the woods to deal with bands of undead sighted there. They first defeated a group of skeletons and a group of strange zombies, but were driven off by a group of ghouls with skull faces. Afterwards, they made their way south of Tanager Walk to meet with the Elder Ent that they rescued during All Hallows. After a conversation with the ent, they returned to Tanager Walk along with a dozen baby ents.

In the afternoon, adventurers continued to tackle the problem of they forest. They cleared out the danger from an infected gathering grove so that foresters could come in later and try to safe the grove; then made the long travel to Rosewood Ward to find the town completely overtaken by fey. They evacuated the townsfolk for now.

Adventurers were faced with many pressing issues this day. They decided the most time-sensitive issue was the death cultists moving into Harmini, since it was unknown which sect they belonged to; upon scouting them out, they discovered that they were Fated Death cultists on a particular mission and that more death cultists from other sects would also likely to be drawn to the area for similar reasons.

They they traveled to Rosewood Ward to negotiate with the fey that had taken over the town; there, they met with a fey “regent” and learned that the fey had taken over the city because they could no longer reside in the forest because they were at risk of becoming corrupted like many other beings there. After some mediating back and forth, the party negotiated a deal in which the fey would remain in the center half of town while the townsfolk moved back into the outer half of town, and the two groups would try to live together. Lastly, come sunset, the adventurers traveled to a spot west of town where thousands of vultures were congregating; and found Death manifested on the edge of the forest, and spoke to it.

This event was postponed due to rain.

12th of Secondmoon, Year 194.1.3

With Tanager Walk being entirely swallowed by a rainforest grown by the baby ents living in town, adventurers first decided to escort someone who might be able to care for them – a sprig named Bollow Marsh – from the capital Faldir down to Tanager Walk. Once Bollow was brought safely to Tanager Walk, they took the sprig to see the first baby ent who had begun glowing and behaving strangely. They determined that the baby was having visions of things happening in the forest.

These done, the adventurers proceeded with great haste to a spot deep in the forest where ents were known to be fighting. They found several ents fighting one another – some showing traces of the corruption from the forest, and others trying to stop them. They joined the latter group, and after a long fight, took down the corrupted ent. From there, they headed to the forest and followed the trail of dead creatures. They drove off many dangerous scavengers and found the body of several creatures – a gigantic jaguar, ground sloth, and tapir – corrupted by the forest, and slain by something else entirely.

12th of Thirdmoon, Year 194.1.3

With the militia in neighboring Lakeshore and the Harmini foresters tied up in town, adventurers had many bases to cover this moon. First, they pursued townsfolk who were being called to the forest; they protected them from forest dangers, and found them clearing ruins inhabited by haunts. They also met a strange forest gargoyle on the way and won a riddling with it, after which it promised to bring them a “key” in one moon. After this, they went to deal with a Vengeful Death shrine that was blessing and empowering dangerous forest creatures; the adventurers spoke with the Dispassionate Death followers camped nearby first and received a blessing to assist them, then – after dying several times – were able to take out the shrine.

In the afternoon, they cleared out the gathering groves of more dangerous creatures. These included spiders, several kinds of undead, and a massive, armored ground sloth that withered the groves – and the adventurers – where it walked. They emerged much older, but victorious. Last, they helped protect the town foresters from various animals, both magical and mundane, while the foresters tended the rainforest that has taken over town. Among them was one of the baby ents who was also helping; they visited with it, then returned home.
